Pienso con frecuencia que preparar este plato es como pintar un cuadro. La vajilla es mi lienzo y los ingredientes mi pintura.
Y si pensamos en la cocina como un “arte culinario”, sería la única expresión artística que deleita tantos de nuestros sentidos: un gran chef debe preocuparse porque su obra sea un conjunto armonioso de elementos visuales, aromáticos, gustativos… y la parte más difícil: que te haga sentir algo. Porque todos sabemos que una buena obra de arte es aquella que logra tocarte el lado emocional.
Menos mal que yo solo hago arte para mí, en mi casa y en compañía de quienes sé que no van a juzgar mi humilde pintura culinaria.

I often think that preparing this dish is like painting a picture. The plate is my canvas and the ingredients are my paint.
And if we think of cooking as a “culinary art”, it would be the only artistic expression that delights so many of our senses: a great chef must be concerned for his work to be a harmonious set of visual, aromatic, and taste elements… and the most difficult part: for it to make you feel something. Because we all know that a good work of art is the one that manages to touch your emotional side.
Good thing I only make art for myself, at home and in the company of those I know will not judge my humble culinary painting.
