Along with the opening of the nearby Fukagawa Edo Museum, Fukagawajuku started its business in 1987 by serving Fukagawa-meshi, a local specialty since the Edo period (1603-1868). In the 1980s, the originally home-cooked Fukagawa-meshi was long forgotten by the locals. However, in order to bring back this traditional meal, it took about a year of trial and error. Get a taste of this Edo (former Tokyo) specialty at this little restaurant in Fukagawa.
